I’m often asked if the fiddle and violin are the same instrument. The answer is yes. The difference is the music you play. And yes, I do play both. The next logical question is electric or acoustic. I have two antique acoustics and one Fender electric solid body. All have different voices and purposes. But I do employ a Barcus Berry pickup for the antiques.
